SLIDERES EVEN SERIES WITH LOPSIDED WIN
The Midwest Sliders enacted some revenge on the Gateway Grizzlies Tuesday night at GCS Ballpark. One night after the Grizzlies picked up a 15-3 win, the Sliders answer with a 15-5 win in game two of a three-game series.
The Grizzlies (21-31) managed just six hits against a pair of Midwest pitchers.
The Sliders (25-26) scored multiple runs in three different innings Tuesday. Already leading 1-0, they took control with a five-run third inning. Gil Zayas capped the inning with a two-run homer. Jonnie Knoble hit a three-run homer in the fifth to put Midwest up 9-1. Joash Brodin made it 13-1 with a grand slam in the sixth inning.
Danny Morrow hit his second homer of the year, a two run shot, in the seventh to make it 13-3. Brodin hit his second homer of the night for the Sliders in the eighth to make it 15-3. Jareck West added a two run homer, his third of the year, in the eighth for the final score. West finished 2-4.
The Grizzlies and Sliders will play the rubber game of the three-game series Wednesday night at GCS Ballpark. First pitch is 7:05 pm.
