FLYERS WIN 4-2 IN 14 INNINGS
JOLIET-The Schaumburg Flyers (24-23) erased a 2-1 Joliet lead with a single run in the 8th inning and came back for two runs in the 14th inning to beat the Joliet JackHammers (19-32) by a score of 4-2 before 2,745 fans at Silver Cross Field on Saturday night.

The JackHammers tied the scoring in the 2nd inning. LF Tydus Meadows (1-5) led off the inning with a double and scored two batters later when 1B Freddie Thon (4-7) hit a single.
The Flyers scored a single in the 8th inning to tie the game at 2-2. Brown hit a one-out single and stole second base. After 2B Jose Valdez (2-6) struck out, RF Victor Ferrante (1-6) singled home Brown for a 2-2 tied score.
In the 14th inning, the Flyers started off the inning with a walk to C Richard Mercado (2-5). LF TJ Wilson (2-6) grounded out against RHP Chad Blackwell (1-2) to move Mercado to second base. Ezi hit an RBI single to score Mercado from second base for a 3-2 Flyers lead.

Loose Gravel: The JackHammers played their longest game of the season on Saturday night. The 14-inning, 4 hour and 41 minute affair surpassed their game against the Flyers on June 17 at Silver Cross Field that lasted 12 innings and 3 hours, 42 minutes.
The JackHammers finish their series with the Schaumburg Flyers on Sunday night at 5:05 p.m. The JackHammers will give away a special mystery giveaway sponsored by Edy’s Ice Cream.
