JACKHAMMERS ANNOUNCE 2009 PROMOTIONAL SCHEDULE!

Fireworks, Entertainers and Autographs Highlight the List of Affordable Family Fun!

 

JOLIET-The Joliet JackHammers 2009 season promises more affordable family fun and excitement at Silver Cross Field! The JackHammers will feature 12 total fireworks dates including seven “Fireworks Fridays,” along with a plethora of themed nights and special giveaways. The 2009 home season begins on Friday, May 15 at 7:05 p.m. against the Schaumburg Flyers at Silver Cross Field in Joliet’s City Center.

 

“It’s going to be a great summer with a lot of great things happening at the ballpark,” said JackHammers Executive Vice President/General Manager Kelly Sufka. “Silver Cross Field will definitely be your place to play this summer!”

 

Fans can also expect fireworks on Thursday, July 2 for our 4th of July Celebration and on Wednesday, August 12, for the “Farmers Insurance Salute to Our Troops.” Popular minor league entertainment acts headline the Saturday dates: INFLATAMANIACS-Inflatable Fun for Kids, (May 30); The Bucket Boys presented by ATI, (July 25); America’s Best Frisbee Dogs, (August 1); “Rally-The King of Bling,” (August 15); and Myron Noodleman presented by LUMINA, (August 29).

 

Every day of the week at Silver Cross Field features a special theme! Mondays are “Holy Half Price Mondays” with half-price group tickets. Tuesday is “Family Night,” where students can exchange their “National City Jammer’s Book Buddies Program” Reading Vouchers for tickets to the game. In addition to the special 6:05 p.m. start, kids run the bases on the field after the game! “Winning Wednesdays” return with bingo at the ballpark during the game. “Thirst Quenching Thursdays” bring $1.50 Budweiser products back to the Jammer’s Backyard BBQ. With fireworks on Friday and entertainers/fireworks on Saturday, the week at Silver Cross Field wraps up with “Family Autograph Sundays,” featuring autographs on the field with the JackHammers’ players and coaches at the end of the game.

 

Giveaways also highlight the promotional schedule. Some notable dates include the always-popular Jammer bobble head giveaway to the first 1,000 kids entering the gates (Tuesday, August 11) and the new Budweiser Fleece Glove Giveaway to the first 1,000 fans 21 and over (Thursday, June 4).

 

Theme nights including the following: “2 Cents Nights,” where all fans through the gates receive two cents (May 31); “Teacher Appreciation Night,” (Thursday, June 4); “Back to the 80’s,” (Friday, July 10); and “Jimmy Buffet Night, “(Friday, August 14).
