OTTERS TAKE SERIES FROM GRIZZLIES

EVANSVILLE, IN-The Evansville Otters defeated the Gateway Grizzlies for the second consecutive night, Wednesday night, winning 9-4 in front of 2,812 at Bosse Field. The Otters won the final two games to win the three-game series.

Evansville (34-44) scored a pair of runs off of Adam Revelette in the first inning and never trailed. Revelette (2-5) lasted just four innings.  He allowed six runs, five earned on eight hits.  He walked two and struck out one.

The Grizzlies (41-37) got an RBI hit from newcomer Brandon Peters in the second inning to cut the lead to 2-1.  Peters was making his professional debut with the Grizzlies.  It was his only at-bat of the night.  He left the game with an ankle sprain following the fourth inning.  Peters' hit scored Mike Breyman, who doubled to lead off the inning.

Evansville would extend the lead to 8-1 before the Grizzlies got on the board again.  Chris Pecora doubled to lead off the sixth then scored later in the inning on an error.  Charlie Lisk hit his 21st homer of the year leading off the seventh to make it 8-3.

It was 9-3 Evansville in the ninth when Breyman singled to score Stephen Holdren in the eighth inning.

Breyman finished the night 2-4 with his 65th RBI of the year.  That is good for second in the Frontier League.  Breyman is now 15 hits away from tying the Frontier League's all-time record with 18 regular season games remaining.

The Grizzlies conclude their season-long 12-game road trip with a three-game weekend series at Windy City.  Game time Friday night is 7:05 at Standard Bank Stadium.
