Grizzlies right-hander Derek Blacksher lost a no-hitter in the eighth inning and the Kalamazoo Kings went on to defeat the Grizzlies 3-0 in front of 4,765 at GCS Ballpark.
The loss snaps a four-game winning streak for the Grizzlies (35-32).
Kalamazoo catcher Mike Russell hit a flare to short right field to lead off the eighth with the first hit off Blacksher. Simon Williams followed with a triple to left field gap to break up the shutout and put Kalamazoo (42-25) up 1-0. Destan Makonnen followed with a single to make it 2-0 Kings.
Blacksher (8-5) allowed two runs on three hits over eight innings. He struck out six.
Kings' left-hander Trent Lare stymied the Grizzlies offense, allowing just six hits while tossing his third complete game-shutout of the year.
Robbie Minor and Alex Kerins each had a pair of hits for the Grizzlies.
