GRIZZLIES FALL TO RASCALS IN 12 INNINGS
O'FALLON, MO- The Gateway Grizzlies fell one game back in the chase for the Frontier League's final wild card spot Tuesday night, falling to the River City Rascals 6-5 in 12 innings in front of 3,652 at T.R. Hughes Ballpark.
Phil Laurent hit a walk-off home run off Grizzlies' closer Zach Gray to end the games. It was the third time in the past four games the Grizzlies have played extra innings. They have lost two of them.
The Grizzlies are now 0-4 this season at T.R. Hughes Ballpark.
Gateway (45-43) trailed 5-3 in the ninth inning, when Mike Breyman evened the score with his 20th homer of the year. The line shot to left center came off Rascals' closer Jonathan Miller.
