GRIZZLIES COME-FROM BEHIND ON 'BOLTS

The Gateway Grizzlies scored three timed in the top of the ninth inning Sunday to score a come-from-behind 4-2 victory over the Windy City Thunderbolts.  The win is the first for the Grizzlies when trailing after eight innings.

Windy City closer Matt Petty walked Charlie Lisk to start the inning.  Lisk advanced to second on a passed ball.  Brandon Scott, pinch-hitting, singled to drive in Lisk and tie the game at two.  Petty left in favor of reliever Jason Lowey.

Manny Paula sacrificed Scott to second, before Chris Pecora singled, sending Scott to third.  Robbie Minor then grounded out to first, but moved Pecora to second.  Windy City catcher Danny Sawyer threw behind Scott at third, but the ball went into left, allowing the Scott to score, giving the Grizzlies a 3-2 lead. Pecora advanced to third, then scored on an RBI single by Ryne Malone and the Grizzlies led 4-2.

Eric Ridener pitched the ninth to earn his second save.  Ridener walked a pair in the inning, but induced a double-play ball from Corey Stang to end the game.

Justin Lilly (4-1) tossed eight innings for the win.  He allowed just the two runs.  He walked one and struck out a career-high six hitters.  It is the second start in a row that Lilly has lasted eight innings.

The Grizzlies improve to 24-21 with the win, and could find themselves tied for first in the division, depending on other action.  Windy City (23-22) falls one-game behind the Grizzlies with the loss.
