BLUEFISH LEFT FEELING CRABBY AFTER FRUSTRATING LOSS

Bridgeport, CT – July 1^st – The Bridgeport Bluefish were unable to reel in their fourth consecutive victory with a tough loss to the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs by a final of 7-1.  Tim Drew (3-2) suffered through a rough outing while the Bridgeport offense could not string anything together on the evening.  The loss drops the 'Fish to 32-33 on the season.

Joe Gannon (4-1) was solid in his start for the Blue Crabs.  The knuckle-baller worked eight innings and allowed one run on nine hits with three walks and six strikeouts to pick up the victory. Chad Ehrnsberger (two-for-three, three RBIs) got the scoring started for Southern Maryland with a bases clearing double in the fourth inning.  Eric Crozier (two-for-two, two RBIs, two runs) also produced from the bottom third of the Blue Crab order.  Bridgeport was unable to recover from the three-spot Southern Maryland put on the board in both the fourth and fifth innings.

Bridgeport starting pitcher Tim Drew, former Major Leaguer, worked 4.2 innings and allowed six runs on six hits and seven walks with four strikeouts.  Travis Ezi and Alex Prieto both finished two-for-four while Brian Munhall (double, run) finished three-for-four on the evening.  The Bluefish left seven runners on base.

The Bluefish look to rebound and take the series tomorrow night when Barry Hertzler (3-4) gets the nod.  The Blue Crabs will send righty Ryan Bicondoa (6-4) to the mound.  First pitch is 7:05 P.M.  One lucky fan will walk away from the Ballpark at Harbor Yard with $500 guaranteed in celebration of Wild-Money Wednesday.
