BLUEFISH MAKE IT LOOK "EZI" IN RALLY OVER YORK
Bridgeport, CT – June 24th – The Bridgeport Bluefish defeated the York Revolution by a score of 3-2 powered by the bat of center-fielder Travis Ezi. Ezi drilled an RBI ground-rule double into the gap in right-center to plate the game-winning run. Bridgeport snaps a four-game losing streak with the win and improves to 28-30 on the season.
Ezi finished the game three-for-four with two RBIs. The speedy center-fielder also drove in the go-ahead run in the fourth inning with an RBI single. Both of his run-scoring swings plated Branden Florence who finished the day hitless but reached base when he was hit by a pitch on two separate occasions. Ezi's game-winning hit was off York reliever Jason Olson (4-3) who suffered the loss in relief of starter Aaron Myette.
Eric DuBose turned in another quality start for the Bluefish. The southpaw lasted seven innings and gave up two runs on seven hits with five Rev hitters fanned. T.J. Tucker (2-1) worked the eighth inning to pick up the victory in relief. Eddy Ramos earned his fourth save of the year with a scoreless ninth.
Chris Ashby led the offensive attack for the Revolution. The York outfielder finished the evening three-of-four with a game-tying RBI single in the fifth inning. Kennard Jones also had two hits, one of which was a solo blast in the first inning to put the Revs on the board.
The Bluefish will look to make it two in a row tomorrow night when Matt Pike (5-2) takes the hill to oppose York righty Frank Castillo (0-0).
