GRIZZLIES TAKE SECOND STRAIGHT FROM OTTERS; DESSAU EARNS RECORD WIN

The Gateway Grizzlies escaped with an 8-6 win over the Evansville Otters Saturday night at GCS Ballpark.  Grizzlies starter Erik Dessau earned his first win of the season, and the 27th of his Grizzlies career, setting a new franchise record.  The Grizzlies have now won two straight.

Dessau went six innings allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits.  He walked six and struck out four.  Dessau is now 27-15 in his Grizzlies career.  Dessau passes Pete Buck who was 26-23 for the Grizzlies from 2001-2004.

The Grizzlies took the lead in the first with four runs on three hits, and never trailed during the game.  Evansville, however, made it interesting late.

The Grizzlies (3-8) led 8-4 going into the ninth.  Evansville (9-3) scored a pair of runs on three walks and two hits off of Eric Ridener.  They left the bases loaded to end the game.

Charlie Lisk led the way for the Grizzlies at the plate.  Lisk was 3-5 with a home run and five RBIs.  Mike Breyman was 1-4 two RBIs.  Manny Paula was 1-3 with an RBI.

The Grizzlies will go for their first series sweep of the year Sunday afternoon against the Otters at GCS Ballpark.  Game time is 3:05 p.m.
