The first-ever All-you-can eat night, a big screen dig, three fireworks nights, and entertainers Myron Noodleman and the ZOOperstars highlight the Gateway Grizzlies 2008 promotional schedule released today by the Grizzlies.
"This is going to be a fun season at GCS Ballpark," Grizzlies General Manager Steve Gomric said. "We've kept some of the attractions fans have come to love, and we're adding some new things that will be exciting."
Wednesday July 2, the Grizzlies are teaming up with Mrs. T's Pierogies to present the first-ever All-you-can eat night at GCS Ballpark. All tickets that night will cost $12 and will include a menu of Mrs. T's Pierogies, hot dogs, small popcorn, small nachos, chips, peanuts, canned soda and water. The free food will be available through the seventh inning stretch.
Mrs. T's Pierogies will offer a buy-one get-one free ticket promotion throughout the entire 2008 season. Fans need only to bring a proof of purchase to the Grizzlies ticket office. The Grizzlies will still honor the special Mrs. T's promotion during the July 2nd game, making single tickets just $6.
"Our food has always been a big part of the experience here," Grizzlies Director of Stadium Operations Brent Pownall said. "This is a great night to come out to the game, have some fun and have dinner with us."
The Grizzlies will offer fans two chances to dig up the GCS Ballpark infield for great prizes. Friday June 27th Olde World Jewelers will bring back the popular diamond dig where women have the chance to dig for real diamond jewelry.
Sunday August 24 American Electronics will present the male version of the diamond dig. Male fans will dig to win a big screen television from American.
The two most popular entertainment acts return to GCS Ballpark when the ZOOperstars return Friday June 20 and Myron Noodleman comes back to the park Friday August 29. Two new entertainers have been added as well. Dave the Horn Guy makes his first appearance at GCS Ballpark Friday June 13. Birdzerk will appear for the first time at GCS Ballpark Thursday July 31.
Other highlights of the Grizzlies promotional schedule include three fireworks displays. Opening Night, July 3rd and the Season Finale will each feature post-game displays.
Tuesday and Sunday nights will remain great nights at GCS Ballpark as well.
All Tuesday nights are Totally 80s Tuesdays at GCS Ballpark. The Grizzlies have also brought back Military Appreciation Nights on all Tuesdays, presented by National City. The team will continue to offer free admission with a valid military I.D. Fans with a National City debit or credit card can purchase buy one-get one free tickets on Tuesdays as well.
Sundays bring the return of Family Fun Sundays presented by Southwestern Illinois College. Fans can get six general admission tickets for just six dollars for any Sunday game.
The Grizzlies are the defending West Division Champions. They begin their eighth Frontier League season May 21st when they host the Southern Illinois Miners at 7:05 p.m.
