2008 Promotional Schedule Promises New Fun and Excitement in 2008!

 

JOLIET-The 2008 season is a little over a month away, and the Joliet JackHammers are gearing up for another summer of fun at Silver Cross Field! The JackHammers 48 home games will feature fireworks, free giveaway items, entertainers and plenty of fun and exciting themed nights. The 2008 home season begins with Harris Bank Opening Night on Friday, May 23 at 7:05 p.m. against the Winnipeg Goldeyes at Silver Cross Field in Joliet’s City Center.

 

“We are extremely excited for the 2008 promotions,” said Sarah Grady, JackHammers community relations/promotions manager.  “Fans will never know what to expect when they come to a JackHammers game. Whether we win or lose, fans are guaranteed to have a blast this season!”

 

The JackHammers 13 fireworks nights highlight the 2008 promotional schedule. Once again fireworks will follow all eight Friday home games this season. Saturdays will feature either fireworks or an entertainer. The JackHammers will host four fireworks nights on Saturdays (May 24, July 19, August 2 and August 16) and a special “Salute Our Troops” Fireworks Show on Wednesday, August 13. Fan favorites Myron Noodleman (June 14) and The Zooperstars (July 5) highlight the entertainers scheduled to perform to the masses this summer. Newcomers “The World’s Strongest Redneck” from Country Music Television (Saturday, June 28) and the Chicago Bucket Boys (Saturday, August 31) are sure to become fan favorites.

 

Each night this summer will feature a different theme: Monday is “Holy Half Price Mondays” with half price group tickets or bring you church bulletin, Tuesdays is about the kids with “Silver Cross Hospitals Kids in Training Tuesdays” that feature a pre-game workout on the field,  “Kids Run the Bases” post-game and Jammer’s Book Buddies Reading Club-all this with a special 6:05 p.m. start, “Winning Wednesday” features Baseball Bingo and Velocity Ball, Thursday is always “Thirst Quenching Thursday” with $1.50 beers at “Louie’s Pad” rooftop, Friday has fireworks following the game, Saturday is Fireworks/Entertainers and Sunday features a family autograph session on field with the JackHammers following the game.

 

Tuesday nights promise to be something new and exciting as the JackHammers will present “Silver Cross Hospital Kids in Training Tuesdays.” The JackHammers and Silver Cross Hospital are bring attention to the growing problem of childhood obesity and will play in special jerseys to be auctioned off at the final Tuesday home game of the 2008 season. Special health news and statistics will be announced throughout the game and the kids will be able to join in a pre-game workout on the field and run the bases following the game.  

 

Promo nights will be plentiful this summer as the JackHammers feature 25 free giveaway items to our fans. JULIE, Inc. sponsors the opening weekend magnet schedule giveaway to the first 1,000+ fans at each game from May 23-25. The Wish Upon A Star Foundation / Century Federal Credit Union Bobble Head Giveaway of Joliet native and former Major League Umpire Bill Haller is Wednesday, June 18. The JackHammers will also host the Jammer “Bobble-Belly” Giveaway on Tuesday, August 12 for the first 1,000 fans.  

 

There will be plenty of special theme nights ranging from an 80’s night (Wednesday, May 28) to a Prom Night (Wednesday, June 25) to a Redneck Weekend (Saturday, June 28-Sunday, June 29). Derby Day (Sunday, July 20) featuring live miniature horse racing and Vegas Night (Wednesday, July 30) are among the new theme night highlights in 2008.
