Gary, Ind.—Bill Terlecky, Vice President & General Manager of the 2007 Northern League Champion Gary SouthShore RailCats Professional Baseball Club, has been selected as Minor League Baseball Executive of the Year by the Pitch and Hit Club of Chicago.  Terlecky will be honored on January 20, 2008 at the club's 62nd Annual Professional Baseball Awards Dinner.

The Pitch and Hit Club of Chicago was formed in 1942 by a group of major league players and scouts.  Over the last two years, the club has honored Ozzie Guillen, Aaron Rowand, Mark Prior, Jim Hendry, Bo Jackson, and Dusty Baker among many distinguished individuals.  Attendance at last year's Awards Banquet exceeded 1,000 people.

The 2008 Awards Banquet will be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.

Under Terlecky's guidance in 2007, the RailCats won the Northern League title and posted the best record in the league during the regular season, winning the Eastern Division in both halves of the league's split season format.  The RailCats also established a new single-season attendance record and set a franchise record for highest per game attendance average.

Terlecky (pictured above), a native of Youngstown, Ohio, will enter his 30th year in professional baseball in 2008.  He joined the RailCats in the fall of 2006.
