
Chicago Fire Reserves Fall to Chivas Reserves, 4-3
CARSON, Calif. (Sept. 30) – Floyd Franks tallied two goals and John Thorrington scored for the third straight game, but it wasn’t enough as the Chicago Fire Reserves dropped a 4-3 decision to the Chivas USA Reserves in a Major League Soccer Reserve Division match held on Field No. 6 at the Home Depot Center.
Chris Cortez scored twice coming off the bench to help Chivas USA (6-2-2) rally from a 3-1 halftime deficit. John Cunliffe provided the game-winner in the 80th minute on a one-timer in the box.
The Fire Reserves (1-6-3) close their season next Sunday (Oct. 7), playing host to the New England Revolution Reserves at 10 a.m. at the TOYOTA PARK practice field.
