Chris Rolfe Earns Goal of the Week Honors

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (Sept. 26, 2007) – Forward/midfielder Chris Rolfe of the Chicago Fire was honored by Major League Soccer with the Sierra Mist Goal of the Week award on Wednesday.

Rolfe found the back of the net from 30 yards out with a right-footed laser as Chicago played to a 1-1 tie against FC Dallas, Sept. 20, at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas.  In the process, he became the second Fire player to earn Goal of the Week honors this season, joining forward Cuauhtémoc Blanco (Week 20).

Rolfe currently resides second in team scoring with five goals and three assists, despite appearing in only 15 of the Fire’s 26 contests.

The Fire (8-10-8, 32 pts.) travel to Chivas USA this Saturday, Sept. 29, for a 9:30 p.m. CT start at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
