‘FISH LOSE LAST HOME GAME

 

The Bridgeport Bluefish were unable to pull out a win against the Road Warriors during the final home game of the season losing 6-5.  The ‘Fish were able to come back from a four to one deficit but were unable to take the game over.

 

Johnny Hernandez was the Bluefish stand-out in the loss finishing one-for-five with two runs and two RBIs.  Luis Figueroa and Jesse Hoorelbeke both picked up multi-hit games including an RBI from Hoorelbeke.  Jay Caligiuri scored two runs in the game as well, with Bobby Darula and Sandy DeLeon picking up an RBI each.

 

The Road Warriors collected only three hits but walked eleven times in the narrow victory.  Manny Mejia, Steven Doetsch, and Rene Aqueron each had a hit and RBI in the game.

 

Bluefish starting pitcher Garrett Berger took the loss dropping his record to 0-4.  Berger pitched four innings and allowed five runs on one hit and nine walks.  Road Warrior starter Darwin Soto recorded the win raising his record to 7-7.  Soto threw for five innings allowing three runs on six hits and struck out three.  Benito Baez picked up his seventh save of the season.
