‘FISH POUND ON PATS

 

The Bridgeport Bluefish salvaged the series winning game three over the Somerset Patriots by a score of 12-2.  The Bluefish recorded seven extra base hits during the offensive onslaught including four doubles, two triples with one home run.

 

Marcos Sanchez was the Bluefish stand-out going three-for-four with a run scored, three RBIs and fell only a home run short of the cycle.  Every Bluefish collected at least one hit in the thirteen hit game.  Bobby Malek had two of the hits along with two runs and two RBIs.  Nick Ortiz hit the lone home run for the ‘Fish and recorded three RBIs.  Jay Caligiuri continued the hot streak finishing two-for-five with three runs.

 

Brandon Larson and Travis Anderson were the standouts for the Pats collecting two hits each in the game.  Larson and Jason Romano recorded the two RBIs in the loss.

 

Mike Porzio (11-8) picked up the win after pitching an eight inning gem allowing only two runs on seven hits while striking out five.  Patriot starting pitcher Keith Ramsey (5-9) absorbed the loss in five innings of work allowing seven runs, six earned, on nine hits.
