‘FISH OUTLAST WARRIORS

 

The Bridgeport Bluefish were able to pull out a win in the eleven inning match-up against the Road Warriors with a final score of 12-11.  Bluefish Nick Ortiz led the offense going four-for-five with two doubles, two runs, four RBIs and a stolen base. 

 

Six different ‘Fish recorded multi-hit games including Johnny Hernandez and Bobby Malek with three each on top of Ortiz’s four.  Malek had another productive day as he finished three-for-six with two runs, two RBIs, and two stolen bases.  Alex Frazier had his best game yet with the Bluefish going two-for-four with three runs and two RBIs. 

 

The Road Warriors had five multi-hit players with Travis Ezi leading the way.  Ezi finished the game going four-for-seven with a home run, two doubles, two runs and two RBIs.  Steven Doetsch also went yard in the game as he finished three-for-five with two runs and two RBIs. 

 

The Bluefish pen saved the game going a combined eight innings allowing only two runs on five hits and struck out eight.  Garrett Berger pitched two innings in the game without allowing a hit extending that to 5.1 innings with no hits.  Eddy Ramos (4-4-16) finished out the game to pick up his fourth win of the season pitching a perfect eleventh inning with three strikeouts.  Warriors Julio Guerrero absorbed the loss dropping his record to zero-and-six.
