GRIZZLIES ROUT PAINTS
 
The Gateway Grizzlies banged out 16 hits Saturday night in defeating the Chillicothe Paints for the second consecutive night.  The Grizzlies scored eight times in the first three innings en route to a 13-6 win in front of 5,118 at GCS Ballpark.
 
Stephen Holdren doubled to drive in a run, and Ryan Sullivan hit a three-run home run in the second to put the Grizzlies up 4-0.  Ryan Saltzgaber, Eric Beck and Jeff Vincent picked up RBIs as the Grizzlies (46-21) put four more on the board in the third to go up 8-0.
 
Sullivan finished the night 2-5 with three RBIs.
 
In the fourth inning, the Paints (32-36) picked up a pair of runs on three hits off of Grizzlies starter Toro Trevino.
 
Trevino (9-3) earned the win, tossing 7.2 innings.  He allowed six runs, four earned, on eight hits.  He walked three and struck out five.
 
Dustin Roberts made it 9-2 in the fourth with a solo home run.  The shot was his league-leading 20th of the year.  Roberts becomes the first Grizzlies player to hit 20 home runs in a season since two players did it in 2004. 
 
Roberts added a two-run double in the fifth, and Mike Breyman picked up an RBI as the Grizzlies went up 12-2.
 
Roberts finished 2-3 with three RBIs.
 
The Grizzlies hit the road Sunday for an eight-game road trip.  The Grizzlies will take on the Southern Illinois Miners in the first of four games Sunday afternoon.  Game time in Marion, IL is 2:05 p.m.
