Evansville, IN - Against the second best pitching staff in the Frontier
League, the Otters (32-52) racked up 12 hits and 11 runs in support of
starting pitcher Mark Murray (3-3) for a 11-3 victory over Rockford
(43-36), ending a seven game losing streak in the process. Evansville
scored early in the game, plating four runs in the first inning on five
hits. The game was broken open in the fifth on a two-run two out bases
loaded single from Zack Pace, who finished 2-4, with a run scored.
Evansville plated two more in the seventh and two in the eighth for the
final margin. The entire lineup contributed tonight, with eight of the
nine hitters scoring or driving in at least one run. Evansville will try
to take the series from the RiverHawks tomorrow night at 7:05 in Bosse
Field.
