‘FISH EDGE SHARKS
The Bridgeport Bluefish were able to pull out a narrow victory against the Camden Riversharks by a score of 7-6. Today’s win was the fourth straight, the longest win streak since a four game win streak from June 30th until July 3rd.
Cristian Guerrero and Denny Abreu were the offensive standouts for Camden. Guerrero finished the game going one-for-three with blast to dead center that left the stadium, crossed the plate twice and swiped two bags. Abreu finished the game three-for-five with three runs scored.
The Bluefish offensive standouts were Jesse Hoorelbeke and Nick Ortiz. Hoorelbeke finished two-for-four and knocked in three RBIs. Two of those RBIs were in the bottom of the seventh which put the Bluefish overtop of the Riversharks. Ortiz was also two-for-four and scored three times.
Bluefish starting pitcher Steven Kent picked up his fourth win of the season throwing seven innings. In that stretch he allowed six runs, four earned, and struck out four. Camden starter Anthony Ferrari absorbed his third loss of the season in six and one-third innings of work, allowing seven runs, five earned. ‘Fish closer Eddy Ramos closed out the ninth inning, striking out two, to record his 14th save of the season.
