NEWARK, NJ – August 22, 2007 – The First-Half North Division Champion Newark Bears Professional Baseball Club announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Sean Kramer for the 2007 season.

Kramer, a native and resident of Albuquerque, NM, was selected in the 29th round of the 2002 draft by the Houston Astros.  He reported to Tri-City of the New York-Penn League where he picked up two saves and struck out 31 batters in 21 appearances. 

After a short stint in the Central League with Alexandria, Kramer pitched for Sioux City of the Northern League from 2004 through 2006.  In 2005, he finished second in the league in saves with 20 and first in games finished (35).  The following season he registered 15 saves and 32 games finished, finishing fifth in the league in both categories. 

Kramer began the 2007 season in the Can-Am League with New Jersey and came to the Bears after pitching for Kansas City in the Northern League.  In six appearances in Kansas City, he struck out five batters and held opponents to a .208 batting average. 

The Bears placed left-handed relief pitcher Steve Crampton on the disabled list to make room on the active roster.
