BEARS RE-SCHEDULE 1937 CHAMPIONSHIP CELEBRATION FOR WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 15

NEWARK, NJ – August 2, 2007 – The first half North Division Champion Newark Bears Professional Baseball Club have re-scheduled the 1937 Newark Bears Championship Celebration for Wednesday, August 15 against the Road Warriors with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 PM.

Gates open at 6:05 PM as the Bears honor the team widely regarded as the finest Minor League Baseball Team ever assembled with a Championship Celebration featuring a replica hat giveaway to the first 1,000 fans presented by Haberman Building Corporation. All fans who wear Bears replica or throwback apparel will receive FREE admission. During the game, fans will have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction to win the commemorative game worn jerseys worn by the Bears players. In addition, fans can purchase popcorn for five cents and dollar hot dogs throughout the game.

The game will be also be another Wear it! Win it! Wednesday at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium. On top of receiving a FREE ticket if you wear Bears apparel, if the Bears win, everyone may redeem their ticket stub for another Bears home game during the 2007 season.
