BEARS ANNOUNCE PLAYOFF GROUP SALES SPECIAL

NEWARK, NJ – August 14, 2007 – The First Half North Division Champion Newark Bears Professional Baseball Club announced today a Playoff Group Sales Special. All groups who purchase the discounted tickets for the Bears playoff game on Tuesday, September 18 at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium at 7:05 PM, will receive a special $5 group ticket rate for one 2008 home game of their choice.

After winning the North Division during the first half of the season, the Bears secured their first playoff game since 2002, when the team won their only Atlantic League Championship. On Tuesday, September 18, gates open at 5:35 PM for a Pre-Game Playoff Party featuring live music, $2 beverages, and 2-for-1 hot dogs. In addition, South Orange resident and Season Six American Idol contestant Jared Cotter will be on hand to sing the National Anthem, as well as sign autographs.

Following the Bears home playoff game, the team will travel to the winner of the Second Half North Division Champions home field for games two, and three if necessary to complete the best-of-three First Round Divisional Playoffs. Should the Bears advance to the best-of-five Final Round, The Den will host games three, four, and five. Game three is scheduled for Sunday, September 23^rd. If necessary, game four would be on Monday, September 24^th and game five would be on Tuesday, September 25^th. First pitch for all three games would be at 7:05 PM.
