POWER HITTING AND EFFECTIVE PITCHING KEY IN A 6-1 JACKHAMMERS WIN

JOLIET, IL-Chad Ehrnsberger (2-4) hit a three run home run and finished with four RBIs and Brian Forystek (4-3) allowed just one run on five hits over six innings pitched to help the Joliet JackHammers to a 6-1 win over the Kansas City T-Bones before 4,492 fans at Silver Cross Field on Tuesday night.

The JackHammers scored four runs in the first inning against Kansas City T-Bones starting pitcher Rick DeHart (2-2). Tim Hutting (1-3) hit a one-out single and went to second base on a walk by Juan Diaz (1-3).

Ehrnsberger hit a three-run home run to give the JackHammers a 3-0 lead.

Derek Nicholson (1-3) followed with a solo home run over the centerfield wall to make it 4-0 in favor of Joliet.

In the third inning Nicholson led off the inning with a walk and went to second base on a single by Bobby Mosby (1-4). Dennis Blackmon (1-3) hit a single to move Nicholson to third.

Eric Scriven (1-3) lined an RBI single up the middle into center field to make it 5-0 Joliet.

In the sixth inning, Cory Harris (2-5) singled and went to second base when Hutting laid down a bunt in front of home plate. T-Bones catcher Patrick Arlis threw late to second base and all base runners were safe.

Ehrnsberger hit an RBI double to score Harris and give the JackHammers a 6-0 lead.

Forystek pitched six innings for the JackHammers and allowed one run on five hits. He walked two and struck out four.

Loose Gravel: Ehrnsberger’s last four RBI game came on August 1 against Kansas City at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. He went 1-4 with a three-run home run.

The JackHammers and T-Bones wrap up their three-game series on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. Josh Regits (1-2, 4.50) will get the ball for Joliet against Christopher Krawczyk (5-4, 5.44) for the Kansas City T-Bones.
