PAINTS TAKE SECOND STRAIGHT

The Gateway Grizzlies hit three home runs, but it wasn't enough as the Chillicothe Paints took their second straight, winning 10-5 Saturday night at V.A. Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Oh.

Ryan Saltzgaber hit the first of the three long balls, putting the Grizzlies up 1-0 with a solo shot in the first inning.

Dustin Roberts hit his 17th of the year, a solo shot, to left in the fourth that made it 3-2 Chillicothe (28-33).  Roberts was 3-4 with two singles and the homer.

The Grizzlies (42-18) trailed 8-2 when Stephen Holdren connected with his league-leading 18th home run of the year, a three-run shot, to make it 8-5.  Holdren was 2-4.  He now has 50 RBIs, which is second in the league.

The Paints would add a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth to make it 10-5.

Jeremy Dow (1-1) suffered the defeat for the Grizzlies.  He started and went five innings.  He allowed five runs on six hits.  He walked three and struck out two.

The Grizzlies and the Paints will finish the series with a 5:05 (CDT) start Sunday in Chillicothe, Oh.
