PAINTS SWEEP GRIZZLIES
 
For the second time in three nights, the Chillicothe Paints scored a ninth inning win, defeating the Gateway Grizzlies 6-5 at V.A. Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Oh.  The Paints swept the three-game series from the Grizzlies.
 
Grizzlies starter Nathan Roush gave up five runs on eight hits in the fourth inning that put the Paints (29-33) up 5-1.  Roush went 6.1 innings and di not get a decision.  He gave up the five runs on 11 hits.  He struck out five.
 
The Grizzlies (42-19) capitlized on opportunities in the top of the fifth and pushed across four unearned runs to even the game at five.  With two on base, Ryan Sullivan laid down a sacrifice bunt attempt.  Paints' pitcher Bryan Johnson fired wide of third and Charlie Lisk was able to score.  Jeff Vincent drove in Chris Gibson with a ground out before Ryan Saltzgaber reached on a fielder's choice.  Mike Breyman followed with his 14th home run of the year to tie the game at five.  It was Breyman second homer of the series.
 
Gibson was the only hitter with more than a hit.  He was 2-3.  Breyman was 1-4 with the homer.
 
The Paints had the bases loaded with one out in the bottom of the ninth when John Poterson bounced into what appeared to be an inning-ending double play.  Poterson was called safe at first and the winning run crossed the plate.
 
Justin Staatz (1-4) suffered the loss.  He pitched the ninth, walking three, one intentionally. 
 
The Grizzlies return home to begin a three-game series with the Florence Freedom.  Game time at GCS Ballpark is 7:05 p.m.
