GRIZZLIES MAKE TRADE FOR OUTFIELDER
The Gateway Grizzlies announced today that they have traded infielder Kyle Bradburry to the Traverse City Beach Bums in exchange for outfielder Jeff Vincent and a player to be named.
Bradburry was hitting .220 in 26 appearances for the Grizzlies, primarily at third base. He had two home runs and six RBIs for the club.
"Kyle has great potential," Grizzlies manager Phil Warren said. "He just needs consistent playing time. This move will give him that chance."
Vincent, a native of Baldwinville, NY, is a former Red Sox farmhand. The 23-year old still has rookie status in the Frontier League. Vincent had appeared in 48 of the Beach Bums 51 games. He hit .295 with a pair of home runs and was leading the team with 33 RBIs. He was also leading the club with 12 stolen bases.
"With Jeff we're getting some great speed," Warren said. "He is a plus for now, but he is young and fits in well with the future of this club."
Vincent is expected to join the club, and be in uniform for Friday's game against the Southern Illinois Miners at GCS Ballpark.
