Florence Freedom announce sellout of
All-Star Game Wednesday, July 11th
Florence, KY – The Florence Freedom are proud to announce that the 2007 Frontier League All-Star Game is all but sold out. Only a few random seats remain in the nearly 4,000 seat Champion Window Field. Standing Room Only tickets are also available.
Gates open at 5:30 pm Wednesday night. The Bank of Kentucky Home Run Derby kicks off at 6:00pm, after the Aramark North & Aramark South teams take infield practice. The derby features 5 players from each team swinging for the fences in hopes of being crowned champion for 2007. The Freedom's own Beau Blacken won the honor during the 2006 All-Star Game.
Player introductions will follow the presentations of Honor Guards from the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and National Guard. The Florence Police Department will present the Colors for the National Anthem which will be performed by John Winfrey, Cincinnati's "singing fireman."
Freedom fans used to the normal fun and entertainment of a regular season Florence Freedom game are in for a special treat. Mascots of the various Frontier League teams including Chief Krazy Horse of the Chillicothe Paints and Suntan/Sunburn of the Traverse City Beach Bums among others will perform.
Joining the mascots are minor league entertainment favorite ZOOperstars. Ken Giraffey, Jr, Centipete Rose, and others will amuse and delight the audience during the game.
Immediately following the game fans will be treated to another fantastic fireworks show presented by Pyrotechnico.
Florence Freedom is a member of the Frontier League, a 12-team Independent Professional Baseball League established in 1993. The Florence Freedom play a 96 game schedule with 50 home games between late May and early September.
