OTTERS WIN EXTRA INNING THRILLER
July 7th
Evansville, IN - The Evansville Otters defeated the Chillicothe Paints
4-3 in a 10 inning thriller on Saturday night on a game-winning single off
the bat of Daniel Burton. The Otters jumped out to an early 3-0 after 4
innings on a leadoff homerun by Matt Reynolds in the 1st, an RBI single
from Justin Carr in the 3rd, and a double in the 4th by Tom Pennino that
scored Zack Pace. The Paints answered with 3 runs of their own in the 7th
to knot the game at 3-3. The score would remain tied until Burton's RBI
single scored Reynolds to give Mike Bille his first win of the year.
Starter Michael Greenhouse made his 2007 debut by tossing six strong
innings of two run, four hit baseball, on his way to fanning five
Chillicothe hitters. Reynolds finished the game 2 for 4 with two runs
scored and an RBI, Carr was 2 for 4 with an RBI of his own, while Grant
Harper went 2 for 4 in his first game at Bosse Field. The Otters will
host the Paints in the second game of a three game series tomorrow at
