Evansville, IN - The Evansville Otters ended their four game losing
streak by drowning the Traverse City Beach Bums 5-1. The Otters compiled
14 hits in the win, with four of them coming off the bat of former U of E
standout Kasey Wahl. Wahl finished the night 4 for 4 with two RBIs and a
run scored. Kyle Smith went 3 for 4 with an RBI for the Otters as
centerfielder Zack Pace added an RBI and two hits of his own. Designated
hitter Mike Spry provided a couple of hits of his own, finishing the
evening 2 for 4. On the mound, Jimmy Conroy pitched 7 2/3 innings, giving
up just one run, scattering five hits, and striking out eight. The Otters
return to action tomorrow night at 7:05 hosting the Beach Bums in the
second game of a three game series.
