After an 11 inning loss in a game that lasted just short of four hours on Wednesday night, the RailCats jumped ahead early on Thursday afternoon, scoring three in the second, two in the third, and one in the fourth to build a 6-0 lead.
Detienne singled in Brett Wallace with two outs in the second to get the scoring started and two more runs scored in the inning on a misplayed ground ball by first baseman Pat O'Sullivan.
In the third, Eric Blakeley led off with a single and scored on Tanner Townsend's double. Townsend eventually scored on a wild pitch to make it 5-0.
Detienne, who had four hits on Wednesday, led off the fourth with a triple and scored on Eric McNamee's single to make it 6-0.
Meanwhile, Kerber (3-4) sailed through the first seven innings before weakening slightly in the eighth. He allowed only five base runners over the first seven before giving up a run in the eighth on a two-out RBI single by Alex Derhak. Kerber allowed five hits over eight innings and one run with two walks and four strikeouts to earn his second straight win.
