‘FISH END FIRST HALF ON SOUR NOTE
The Bluefish were unable to get a win Monday morning as they fell to the Camden Riversharks 6-2. The game was a make-up from a rain out on June 4th.
The ‘Fish kicked it into gear in the second inning as Jesse Hoorelbeke scored off of an error on the right fielder Brad Strauss . The next three innings were quiet until the Sharks swam ahead in the sixth. Danny Rueckel gave up five runs after taking over for starting pitcher Justin Sturge.
The Bluefish pitchers debuted in the field today, with Steven Kent in right field, Eddy Ramos in center field and Matt Beech at first base. In the ninth, catcher Kelington Made recorded his first hit and RBI in the Atlantic League, plating Matt Beech.
Riversharks starting pitcher Luke Lockwood (1-0) picks up the win, throwing five innings and allowing one unearned run. Bluefish relief pitcher Danny Rueckel (0-1) picks up his first loss of the season.
Today kicks off the beginning of the Atlantic League All-Star Break. The game will be played in Lancaster, PA on Wednesday. Tommy John was voted the All-Star Coach. Mike Porzio, Nick Ortiz, Junior Spivey, Eddy Ramos, Jay Caligiuri, Bobby Malek, Quinton McCracken, and Franklin Perez will represent the Bluefish.
The Bluefish will return home on Monday the 16th to face the Newark Bears at a 7:05 P.M. start time. Monday night is All Faith Bulletin Night at the ballpark. Any fan who comes with a bulletin will receive half-price tickets.
