BEARS SET SEPTEMBER 18TH AS FIRST HOME PLAYOFF DATE
NEWARK, NJ – July 17, 2007 – The Newark Bears Professional Baseball Club announced that they will host game one of the first round best-of-three playoff series on Tuesday, September 18th at 7:05 PM. The Bears, who clinched a playoff spot by winning the first half North Division title, will host their first playoff game since September 22, 2002 when they won the Atlantic League Championship.
In conjunction with the playoff date, the Newark Bears are offering fans a new “Playoff Pack” Ticket Plan. The plan includes four games: Sunday, July 29th at 3:05 PM vs. Lancaster; Friday, August 3rd at 7:05 PM vs. Somerset; Friday, September 14th at 7:05 PM vs. Bridgeport; and game one of the first round best-of-three playoff series on Tuesday, September 18th at 7:05 PM. In addition, fans that purchase the “Playoff Pack” will be given complimentary tickets for any future 2007 home playoff games.
Should the Bears advance to the best-of-five final round, The Den will host games three, four, and five. Game three is scheduled for Sunday, September 23rd. If necessary, game four would be on Monday, September 24th and game five would be on Tuesday, September 25th. First pitch for all three games would be at 7:05 PM.
