DAVE DUERSON ADDED TO THE BUDWEISER GRIDIRON ON THE DIAMOND EVENT!

Former Bear Added to the Bears Roster for This Saturdays 7:05 p.m. Game against the Former Packers Legends at Silver Cross Field

JOLIET, IL-The Joliet JackHammers are pleased to announce the addition of Bears legend and 1985 Super Bowl XX Champion Dave Duerson to the Budweiser Gridiron on the Diamond Event. Duerson’s addition highlights changes that round out the final roster of the Budweiser Gridiron on the Diamond Event this Saturday, July 28^th at 7:05 p.m. at Silver Cross Field. Duerson will replace Jim Morrisey, who will play for the former Packers legends in place of Darrell Thompson, who could not attend. The JackHammers are currently home through Thursday, July 26 against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at Silver Cross Field.

“It’s getting down to the wire and we could not believe we could get someone of Dave’s caliber and name recognition to attend at the last second,” said Kelly Sufka, the JackHammers Executive Vice President/General Manager.

Duerson was a third-round draft pick of the Bears out of the University of Notre Dame in 1983. He was one of the secondary staples of Buddy Ryan’s 1985 Bears defense that eventually helped the Bears win Super Bowl XX.

The final roster for the “Budweiser Gridiron on the Diamond Event” features four members of the 1985 Super Bowl XX Championship team. Along with Duerson and Morrisey, LB Otis Wilson, and TE Emery Moorehead will also be in attendance. The final roster is as follows:
