JACKHAMMERS SELL LHP FISKE TO THE ST. LOUIS CARDINALS

Will Report to their Short-Season “A” Affiliate in the New York-Penn. League in Batavia, New York

JOLIET, IL-The Joliet JackHammers are proud to announce that they have sold the contract of LHP Justin Fiske to the St. Louis Cardinals organization. Fiske, a native of College Station, TX; will report to the Cardinals short-season A affiliate in Batavia, NY immediately and will begin his affiliated career with the Batavia Muckdogs of the New

York-Penn. League. Fiske signed with the JackHammers on June 19 after the completion of his college career at Texas State University. He is 0-0 with

a 4.50 ERA in 4 appearances for the JackHammers in 2007.

The left-hander’s career at Texas State ended with a banner senior season in 2007. He went 9-3 in 19 games (12 starts) and a 2.01 ERA. He was named to

the All-Southland Conference First Team for this past spring. The JackHammers used Fiske solely as a reliever. 

Loose Gravel: This is the first player the JackHammers have sold to a Major League organization in 2007.
