SLIPPERY ROCK, PA (June 2, 2007)—The Slippery Rock Sliders were ready to rebound from Friday night's loss to the Florence Freedom on Saturday against the Washington Wild Things. But the Wild Things weren't the main obstacle in thwarting that effort, mother-nature was the issue. The Sliders held a 1-0 lead in the third inning when the game was called. Thunder and lightning, along with a heavy downpour of rain filled Jack Critchfield Park. The game was suspended and will pick up where it let out Saturday at 5 p.m. Sunday's originally scheduled game will take place following a half hour break after game one is concluded. Prior to the delay, Sliders left fielder Jarrod Klausman hit a homerun to right field in the bottom of the first inning, the first homerun by a Sliders' player at Jack Critchfield Park. For the Sliders, RHP Derek Duclos will take the mound to complete game one on Sunday. The Wild Things will send tomorrow's originally scheduled starter LHP Tom Cochran will take the mound. In game two, Slider's left-handed ace Zac Cline will make the start, while the Wild Things will now send RHP Justin Staatz to the mound.
