Gary, Indiana—Kenny Durost allowed just five hits in a complete game performance and Neb Brown hit a three-run home run to lead the Kansas City T-Bones to a 7-1 win over the Gary SouthShore RailCats on Tuesday night.  The loss ended the RailCats six game winning streak as their record fell to 14-4.  They lead Joliet and Schaumburg by six games in the Northern League's South Division.

Durost (2-0) did not allow a runner past second base until the ninth inning in his first career complete game performance.

Kansas City scored three runs in the first inning against RailCats starting pitcher Josh Habel (2-3) and were never threatened for the lead.  Calvin Pickering drilled a long two-out, two-run homer in the first to key the inning.

The T-Bones added another run in the third before Brown's three-run homer in the sixth made it 7-0.

The RailCats only run came in the ninth when Tanner Townsend singled in Jermaine Allensworth from second with two outs.

Durost walked four and struck out five and did not allow an extra base hit to the RailCats, who entered the game with a league-leading .320 batting average.

Habel allowed seven hits and seven earned runs in five and two-thirds innings, walking four and striking out four to suffer the loss.

The RailCats battle the T-Bones again Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. in Kansas City.  Jim Paduch (2-0, 2.70) will pitch for Gary against Kansas City's Larkin Braxton (1-2, 10.29).

Notes:  Depite the loss, the RailCats have won 10 of their last 12 while Kansas City has lost 10 of their last 13 after their win…The RailCats string of nine straight games with at least 10 hits came to an end…Allensworth extended his hitting streak to 11 straight games, the longest of the year for a RailCats player, collecting two of the club's five hits…Jay Pecci's nine game hitting streak ended…For the first time this season, Pecci and Eric McNamee did not play the full nine innings.  Both left the game in the eighth.  Townsend and David Detienne are the remaining RailCats who have played every inning of all 18 games.
