Glen improved his 2007 record to 4-0 and raised his RailCats career mark to 24-8. He walked two and struck out seven, raising his league-leading strikeout total to 45 on the year.
Schaumburg took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning. Glen hit Dario Delgado with a pitch to start the frame and Keith Maxwell lined a single to right to move Delgado to third. Josh Noviskey followed with a sacrifice fly to center to score Delgado.
The RailCats did not have a base hit over the first three innings against Schaumburg starter Ryan Harris (1-3), but they rallied with a four-run fourth inning to take the lead. Jay Pecci lined a double to right to start the rally and Jermaine Allensworth reached on an error. One batter later, Jose Yepez lined a single to center to bring in Pecci and tie the game. Tanner Townsend followed with a hit to center to score Allensworth and make it 2-1 as Yepez went to third. David Detienne's infield ground out brought in Yepez to make it 3-1. Nate Price hit a ground ball that was fielded deep in the hole at short by Sandy Almonte, but Price hustled down the line and Almonte rushed his throw, firing one past the first baseman as Townsend scored from second on the hit and error to make it 4-1.
The RailCats added the final run of the game in the seventh when Price walked with two outs and sprinted around to score on Dale Mueller's double to the right field corner.
Glen threw 104 pitches and left after seven innings. David Byard and Brad Mumma combined to work a scoreless eighth, and Chad Blackwell pitched a perfect ninth. RailCats relievers have allowed just one run in 14 innings on the current homestand.
