RailCats starting pitcher Josh Habel (5-3) won his third straight decision, going six and two-thirds innings while allowing six hits and two runs with three walks and four strikeouts. Brad Mumma pitched a scoreless inning in relief of Habel and Chad Blackwell closed out the win by retiring all four batters he faced as he struck out the side in order in the bottom of the ninth. Blackwell extended his consecutive scoreless inning streak to 17.1 innings, one-third of an inning short of the club record.
Detienne's two-out, two-run double in the top of the first inning got the RailCats an early 2-0 lead, but Schaumburg came to tie the game with one run in the bottom of the first and another in the second on a solo home run by Kyle Leon.
But the RailCats jumped back in front in the third on a run-scoring single by Jermaine Allensworth and a sacrifice fly by Detienne to make it 4-2. The RailCats scored an unearned run in the fourth and then added two more in the seventh on Reese's two-run double to account for the final tally of 7-2.
Eric McNamee walked four times in the game to tie a club record. He scored two runs and added a stolen base. Dale Mueller collected three hits for the RailCats.

Notes: The RailCats' have beaten Schaumburg in seven of the eight meetings between the two clubs this season…The RailCats are 3-2 on their current 14 game road trip that will move to Joliet on Monday and finish in Winnipeg.
