RAILCATS COULD CHALLENGE NORTHERN LEAGUE RECORDS FOR WINS IN FIRST HALF

Gary, Ind.—The Gary SouthShore RailCats are approaching the all-time Northern League record for most victories in the first half of the league's split-season format.
The RailCats have a record of 27-11 with 10 games to play. Their winning percentage is .711. The Northern League record for most wins in the first half is 32, a mark reached three times by the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.
The RedHawks also hold the record for most wins in either half, 40, set in 2005 when they went an amazing 40-7 in the second half. That total is beyond the RailCats reach, but no other club has ever won more than the 33 games that Winnipeg won in the second half in 1998.
The RailCats current winning percentage would match the fourth best ever in a half in Northern League history. Here are the league's milestones for wins in the first half, wins in either half, and winning percentage in a half.
