Gary, Ind.—The Gary SouthShore RailCats Professional Baseball Club announced today that pitcher Travis Kerber has been activated from the disabled list.  In a corresponding transaction, pitcher Jim Paduch has been placed on the seven day disabled list.

Kerber, the only member of the RailCats to pre-date manager Greg Tagert, made one start this season on May 19th, the third day of the season before being placed on the disabled list with right shoulder tendonitis.  He finished second in the Northern League in earned run average in 2006 with a 2.78 mark while posting a 4-5 record.  In 2005, Kerber led all Northern League relievers with a 1.33 ERA, going 5-1 in 34 games.

Paduch is 3-2 with a 4.39 ERA for the RailCats this season but was disabled with what Tagert termed a "tired arm."  He will be eligible to return to the roster on June 28th.

The RailCats, in first place with a 22-9 record, play at Fargo-Moorhead today at 12:30 p.m.  They return to Gary on July 4th.
