The RailCats record improved to 26-10 on the season. The victory on Monday was their fourth straight.
Trailing 3-1 in the sixth inning, the RailCats ignited a two-out rally when Jose Yepez singled and went to second on a walk to Tanner Townsend. David Detienne then hit a deep drive to the right field wall that glanced off the glove off
RailCats reliever Brad Mumma pitched out of a tough jam in the seventh. He entered the game with men at first and second and no outs and struck out power-hitting Derek Nicholson, got Chad Ehrnsberger to ground out, and after hitting Tim Hutting with a pitch, got Dennis Blackman to fly out to right to end the threat and keep the RailCats up by a run.
In the eighth, Townsend led off with a single and one batter later, Price launched a two-run home run to right, his third home run of the season to make it 6-3.
Chad Blackwell worked the final two innings, tossing scoreless baseball, to pick up his second save. Blackwell also broke the RailCats club record for consecutive scoreless innings, extending his streak to 19 and one-third.
