KINGS CLUB GRIZZLIES FOR SWEEP

The Kalamazoo Kings (15-11) used a 14-hit attack to finish off a three-game sweep of the Gateway Grizzlies (18-8) Monday night at Homer Stryker Field in Kalamazoo, MI. The Kings took an early 3-0 lead then cruised to a 10-2 victory.

Nathan Roush (2-3) took the loss for the Grizzlies. Roush went just 5.1 innings allowing seven runs, four earned, on nine hits. He walked one and struck out two.

Manny Paula and Jonathan Armitage each had a pair of hits for the Grizzlies, who had just six as a team. Paula was 2-3 with a run scored. Armitage was 2-4 with a run. Mike Breyman was 1-4 with an RBI.

The Grizzlies return home to begin an eight-game homestand at GCS Ballpark. The Traverse City Beach Bums are in town for the first of three Tuesday night. Game time is 7:05. Erik Dessau (3-0) will go for the Grizzlies.
