SHARKS TOP FISH, 13-4

All Sharks Batters Walked at Least Once

Camden, NJ- The Riversharks clobbered the Bridgeport Bluefish, 13-4, at Campbell’s Field on Wednesday evening, winning two out of the three games in the series. A combination of 10 hits along with the entire Sharks lineup being dealt a walk at least once helped guide the team to victory. LJ Biernbaum continued his hitting streak after knocking a single in the second, upping the total to 20 straight games.

It was a night of walks for both teams, as Bluefish starter Garrett Berger (0-1) allowed nine bases on balls in two and two-thirds innings before being taken out. He would later pick up the loss, while Sharks starter Erick Burke (1-1) picked up the win. The Bluefish allowed 16 walks, while the Sharks walked ten. There were a total of 28 players left on base.

Riversharks designated hitter Ben Davis crushed a long ball over the right field wall, his third home run of the season. Bluefish Jay Caligiuri went two-for-three on the night with three RBI.

The Riversharks (26-18) wrap up their homestand with a three game series starting Thursday night against the Newark Bears (24-21). This is the first time former Sharks manager Wayne Krenchicki will return to Campbell’s Field to face his former team. First pitch is slated for 7:05pm as RHP Greg Powell (3-3, 3.43) faces RHP Matt Sweeney (5-3, 2.83).
