BEACH BUMS SNAP GRIZZLIES' STREAK
The Traverse City Beach Bums (9-12) scored three first inning runs Wednesday night then went on to defeat the Gateway Grizzlies (16-5) 7-2 at Wuerfel Park in Traverse City, MI.
The Grizzlies managed just the two runs on eight hits. Ryan Sullivan the lead to 3-1 in the fourth with a single to score Jonathan Armitage. Sullivan was 2-3. Mike Breyman made it 4-2 in the sixth when he hit a sacrifice fly to center. That scored Stephen Holdren.
The Beach Bums sealed the win with a three-run sixth inning.
Nathan Roush (2-2) was charged with all seven runs on 11 hits through 5.2 innings. He struck out three and did not walk a batter. Jeremy Dow and Kyle Warren combined for 2.1 innings of scoreless baseball. Dow struck out two.
The Grizzlies and Beach Bums continue the series with a 6:05, central time, game Thursday night in Traverse City, MI.
