Road Warriors Take Toll On ‘Fish

Despite 11 hits, the Bluefish were only able to plate two runs in a tough loss to the Road Warriors, 5-2. Mike Porzio receives the loss, dropping his record to 6-2 while Emmanuel Ulloa gets the win.

The ‘Fish were up 1-0 through four when the wind picked up helping Vito Chiaravolloti (1-3, 3 RBIs) belt his second home run of the series scoring three runs. Two more runs for the Road Warriors off the bats of Josh Arteaga and Steven Doetsch in the seventh put the game out of reach for the Bluefish.

Shaun Boyd made a good contribution with three hits in four trips to the plate raising his batting average to .346. Nick Ortiz (2-4, RBI), Junior Spivey (2-5, RBI) and Angel Espada (2-5, R) also all produced multi-hit games in the loss.

Ulloa’s win improves his record to 3-4, throwing seven innings with seven strikeouts and allowing seven hits. Julio Guerrero records the save (3) for second night in a row.

Tomorrow the Bluefish conclude their series with the Road Warriors at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard. Saturdays have a family friendly start time of 6:05 P.M. and includes the opportunity to enjoy fireworks after the game.
