Bluefish Avoid The Broom, Send Road Warriors Packin’

The Bluefish dodged being swept at home versus the Road Warriors by winning 11-6 Saturday night. Reliever Matt Perisho picked up the win and improved his record to 2-1 while Carlos Castillo’s record drops to 2-5 as he gets the loss.

The bats were red hot for both sides recording 27 hits and 17 runs combined during the game. The long ball proved too much for the Warriors to handle as Shaun Boyd went yard in the 2^nd inning, and then Jesse Hoorelbeke put the game out of reach with his 8^th inning grand slam.

Bobby Malek was announced the player of the game with 3 hits including 3 runs, an RBI and fell only a homerun shy of the cycle. John Nathans not only contributed offensively with a one hit, 2 RBI and a run but also defensively holding his ground and recording an out as Omar Garcia tried to bulldoze through the plate.

Steven Doetsch topped the list for the Warriors with 4 hits while also recording 2 RBIs. Rene Aqueron and Jason Bryan of the Road Warriors had 3 hits each as well.

The Bluefish begin a 3-game series with York starting tomorrow, Sunday June 24^th at 2:05 P.M. Sunday is family and seniors day at the Ballpark, and also features a beach towel giveaway. Run the bases after the game and get autographs while meeting your favorite Bluefish players on the field.
