FISH WHACK THE QUACK PACK

Tommy Rojas steals the show (3-4, R, 5 RBIs) and starting pitcher Mike Porzio records his fifth win of the season as the Bluefish swallow the Long Island Ducks 10-4.

The Ducks took an early lead with a home run from the bat of Carl Everett in the second, but Mike Porzio ultimately stuck it to the Ducks with 6 Ks in 6.2 innings of work.

Tommy Rojas was the star of the game with his 5 RBIs and a home run in the seventh that soared over the net in left field and bounced off the arena. Jesse Hoorelbeke put his share of lights on the scoreboard with a double in the bottom of the seventh, sending Nick Ortiz and Bobby Malek for home. Malek also hit his first home run of the season, a solo shot to right, in the bottom of the sixth.

Bluefish newly acquired Hector Mercado and Danny Rueckel made their first appearance for the ‘Fish this season during the late innings with a combined 1 inning of work.

With this game, the Bluefish extend their lead in the Division 1.5 games over the Long Island Ducks. The series will continue tomorrow between these two rivals. Tomorrow and Thursday’s games will both start at 7:05 P.M. Wednesday is $1 Night at the Ballpark with $1 hot dogs and sodas. Thirsty Thursday will include half-priced beer, soda, and popcorn.
