RASCALS END GRIZZLIES STREAK

Albert Ayala tossed a complete game for his first professional win Wednesday night as the River City Rascals ended the Grizzlies six game winning streak with a 7-1 victory at GCS Ballpark.

The Grizzlies managed just two hits against Ayala.  Mike Breyman ended the shutout with a two-out solo home run to left in the ninth inning.  The other hit came when Greg Andrews led off the fifth inning with a triple.  He was later thrown out at the plate.

The Rascals got on the board with two runs on two hits in the first inning.  Andy Bettis had a first inning RBI, while the other run scored on a wild pitch by Grizzlies starter Chris Little.  Little (3-2) suffered the loss.  He went 7.2 innings allowing four runs on four hits.  He struck out a career high eight.

Brandon Kellback allowed three runs, two earned, in 1.1 innings of relief for the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies travel to Evansville to begin a four-game series with the Otters Thursday night.  Game time is 7:05 p.m.
